Session Description: Today, the DoD is actively engaged in alternative energy projects, often involving Enhanced-Use Leases (EULs) and Energy Saving Performance Contracts (ESPC) to build microgrids and distributed energy plants on its own installations. With more than 300 renewable energy projects to date, the DoD must deal with arduous base-by-base negotiations involving local electric companies, state utility regulators, and private financiers Learn how the Air Force is proposing to deal with these issues under the concept called Energy As A Service (EAsS).

Session Description: As the Department of Defense (DoD) continues to face budget shortfalls, DoD leaders are looking for revolutionary ways to reduce costs while retaining capabilities critical to their missions. Community Partnerships have emerged as a viable way to address these challenges. This has resulted in a robust dialogue between installations and their surrounding communities that has led to innovative public-private partnerships (P3s) and even public-public-private partnerships (P4s) across the DOD. Learn about some creative examples of community partnerships that have resulted in enhanced military readiness.
